Denard Span drove Gorkys Hernandez with two outs in the 14th inning to propel the San Francisco Giants to a 4-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.
The Giants slowed their progress after Kelby Tomlinson’s single that matched the board in the eighth, and had to wait for the 14th to complete their comeback against Chad Qualls (1-1).

Hernandez hit a double with an out that went over the head of left fielder Ian Desmond. After Qualls struck Gearrin, Span sent a 1-0 pitch into the right field, and Hernandez easily scored by sliding to the plate with his head in front.
The Giants went on the bench to celebrate their second consecutive win over Colorado after fitting nine defeats to their rivals in the NL West.
Gearrin (2-2) clinched the win with a three-innings without scoring after the Giants came from behind to overcome a 3-1 deficit.
Span hit three hits and drove in two runs, while Hernandez and Brandon Belt hit two hits each.
Mark Reynolds shot his 19th homer for the Rockies. Colorado placed runners on the bases in each of the last five innings, three of them in second, but failed to score.
