Rangers beat Tigers to claim 10th consecutive win

Mike Napoli and Joey Gallo homered to give the Texas Rangers the offensive needed to help them rescue a 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers on Friday, their 10th straight win.

Nick Martinez (1-2) conceded a dirty run and four hits over five innings to end a run of 11 starts without a win that began Aug. 5, 2015. Matt Bush added his fifth save six times, But it was not easy.

He struck out Alex Avila with runners in the corners and two outs after the defensive error of Venezuelan shortstop Elvis Andrus allowed the Tigers to come close to two runs.

Daniel Norris (2-3) gave up five runs and seven hits and struck out eight in five 2/3 innings. He has won only one of his last six starts.
For the Rangers, Venezuelans Andrus 3-0 with a RBI, and Rougned Odor 4-1 with a run scored.
