Pujols hit 596 homers and the Angels won

Yunel Escobar hit a three-run homer and drove in four, Albert Pujols and Ben Revere hit solo homers and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Oakland Athletics 7-3 on Tuesday.

Yonder Alonso hit two homers for Oakland, raising his personal best to 11 after his second game with more than one homer – four days after the first.

Pujols hit his home run in the first inning and Alonso responded in the bottom of the episode with two runs. The Angels, who scored their seven runs in long balls, hit two more in the second.

Escobar drove one with a ground-out in the fourth and Cliff Pennington pushed another single with a single to back Alex Meyer (1-1), who made the first home win of his career.

The A’s did not have the luck of their last three games, which they won in the last at-bat, but they had a luxury spectator, Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant, who followed the action from behind the plate.
