Pujols gave his 599th HR and Angels beat Bravos

Albert Pujols shot his 599 career home run during a third inning with nine runs for the Los Angeles Angels, who beat Barolo Columbus and the Atlanta Braves 9-3 on Tuesday.

Pujols was just one step away from beating the mark after a three-run homer off his compatriot Columbus at the start of the Angels’ best entry this season.

The 37-year-old slugger hit homers in two straight games for the first time this season. He will be the ninth player in MLB history, and the youngest fourth, to reach 600 homers.
