Pitching has catapulted the Red Sox to the top

Although nothing seemed easy for the Red Sox in the first half, the Patirrojos are at the top of the AL East thanks in part to dominant performances by ace Chris Sale and closer Craig Kimbrel. The Boston Novena starts the second half of the season shooting 50-39 and a 3.5 game lead over the Yankees and Rays.

“Yes, we are in the first place, but I feel we have not yet given 100% as a team,” said right fielder Mookie Betts. “I think we still have a long way to go, but when it’s time for the truth, I think we’ll be well prepared.”
Considering the number of injuries they have had to contend with – including losing two-month left-hander David Price at the start of the season – the Red Sox have a legitimate reason to think their best baseball is yet to come.
