Orioles acquire Dominican Miguel Castro in exchange with Rockies

The Baltimore Orioles acquired Miguel reliever Miguel Castro of the Colorado Rockies in exchange for a player for being designated or cash.

The agreement was made on Friday.

The 22-year-old Dominican right-hander allowed 22 earned runs in 32 innings and a third with the Toronto Rockies and Blue Jays.

Colorado pulled Castro out of his roster Sunday to create room for local boy Kyle Freeland, who pitched for the Rockies in their first game of the season at home to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

The 22-year-old Dominican right-hander allowed 22 earned runs in 32 innings and a third with the Toronto Rockies and Blue Jays. In turn, Baltimore ruled out of his roster to right Joe Gunkel to incorporate Castro.
