The possibility that Mexico has a Major League team is increasing, so told RÉCORD the commercial director of the MLB in Mexico, Rodrigo Fernandez.
“We have to take many steps, but we must give them fast, so that in no more than five years we have a team in Mexico, it’s a real possibility,” Fernandez told RECORD.
Also, since Rodrigo himself commented in the presentation of the office of the league in our country, it is not yet known who is coming but it is a fact.
“Before April 1 will say what teams and where, but there will be regular season play in Mexico during 2018.”
“The idea is to start with one in 2018, but from 2019 I think we’re going to see more series in Mexico,” he shared.
Regarding the teams that will visit our country, the office of Major League Baseball in Mexico intends to bring the best and with more fans.
“Our intention is to bring the most popular teams,” said Fernandez.
The intention of MLB squads is to play in Mexico, so that makes it easier to see the best players, in the presence of the Mexican fanaticada.
“All the teams want to come to Mexico, everyone is ready, everyone sees a very important market in our country,” he said.
