Mexican-born reliever Sergio Romo signed a one-year, $ 3 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday after spending nine seasons in the majors with the San Francisco Giants.
Romo’s deal includes $ 250,000 in performance bonds, including $ 125,000 for 50 and 60 appearances.
The Mexican-born may possibly serve as the closer’s trainer Kenley Jansen.
The right reliever has been the ‘firefighter’ with more work since debuting in the majors in 2008 with 515 appearances with the Giants.
Romo has a historic balance of 32-26 with a 2.58 ERA and 84 saves.
The stellar reliever secured three World Series titles with San Francisco (2010, 2012 and 2014).
His last out in the ‘Fall Classic’ of 2012 was a punch to the starlet Venezuelan Miguel Cabrera (Detroit Tigers).
