San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy was heart-operated and will miss the two-game series this week in Kansas City.
The Giants said Bochy had complained of discomfort and underwent a minor procedure Monday in San Diego to correct the arrhythmia problem.
Bochy rests at home and is expected to rejoin the team Friday in Colorado. Bank coach Ron Wotus will lead the team in the next two meetings against the Royals.
Bochy, 62, had a heart surgery in February 2015 to insert two stents, and was hospitalized last summer for another malaise that forced him to miss a game in Miami.
