Joe Blanton with the Nationals?

The Nationals signed right-hander Joe Blanton for a season, according to Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post.

The club has not confirmed the contract information, which according to the report still depends on Blanton undergoes the medical examinations to materialize.

Ken Rosenthal of MLB Network reported that the deal is $ 4 million and that Blanton could receive up to $ 1 million more in bonuses depending on its performance.

Blanton, 36, left 7-2 with a 2.48 ERA in 75 games with the Dodgers last season. The 12-season Major League veteran has a 99-93 lifetime record of 4.35 ERA in 376 games (252 starts) with the A’s, Phillies, Dodgers, Angels, Royals and Pirates.
