Robbie Ray led a shutout to the 8th inning, David Peralta hit four hits and the Arizona Diamondbacks took the San Diego Padres 9-1 Saturday to sign their fifth straight victory.
Ray (3-3) limited the Padres to just two hits and three walks and struck out six in 7 innings and two-thirds. Tom Wilhelmsen struck out Wil Myers with the bases loaded in the eighth, and J.J. Hoover admitted the only Padres’ run in a single to Allen Cordoba’s ninth inning.

Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run single in a first inning with five runs of the Diamondbacks, as the first four hit hitters against Luis Perdomo (0-1). Jake Lamb hit a double tug and Chris Herrmann added a two-run homer in that inning.
