The Orioles activated starter reliever Zach Britton on Tuesday’s 10-day disabled list ahead of his team’s second game against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Britton had said on Monday he felt ready to return to action, having released his second rehab game with Double-A Bowie on Sunday night. The closer was out since April 18 by a pull on his left forearm.
“I feel like I’m ready,” Britton said. “Sunday felt good, much better than during the first (rehabilitation presentation).” I feel like I’m where I should be in order to be activated, I’m excited to be back on the pitch with the rest of the team. ”
This season, Britton has a 0-0 record with five saves and a 1.29 ERA in seven innings, which has struck out six hitters and hit three. Last year he saved 47 games.
