Athletics beat Yankees in the 10th inning

Khris Davis hit a two-run single in the 10th inning that bounced off second baseman Starlin Castro’s center midfielder, and the Oakland A’s rallied to beat the New York Yankees 8-7 on Thursday.

It was the third time Davis closed a game with a hit. The Castro had overtaken the Yankees with a high sacrifice in the high part of the episode.

Davis’ winning streak against Mexico’s Giovanny Gallegos (0-1) closed a game that lasted for four hours and 29 minutes. Rajai Davis hit a two-out single and Chad Pinder doubled runners on second and third bases.

Liam Hendriks (3-1) worked the high afternoon of the 10th episode to achieve victory on a night when New York swept 13 runners and Oakland 12.

The A’s could not maintain their advantage throughout the match, but they cut a three-game losing streak with their second win on eight dates.
