Aaron Judge hit his seventh homer on the day of the season and Luis Severino overcame Cy Young starters Rick Porcello in the duel for the New York Yankees to beat Boston 3-1 in the Season duel between the two major American League rivals Wednesday night at Fenway Park.
Celebrating its 25 years, the powerful Judge, one of the “Baby Bombers” who are called to lead the Yankees in the following years, flew the central garden fence in the second inning against Porcello to take to Starlin Castro.
On a foggy night at Fenway Park, where on Tuesday it was not possible to play because of the rain, Severino showed his progress as a pitcher. In 7 innings he allowed only 3 hits, with 6 strikeouts and 2 bases. Dellin Betances pitched the eighth and Aroldis Chapman the ninth for the save despite allowing a run, with 2 bases and 2 strikeouts.
